2023 Training Workshops

Training Overview:
FDOT is sponsoring two-day, in-person TBEST training workshops to provide transit planners with hands-on experience utilizing TBEST 4.8.
The computer-based training sessions will introduce new TBEST 4.8 software features, provide guidance for validating the TBEST ridership forecasting model for use in Transit Development Plans (TDP’s) and provide overall TBEST application and management guidance to implementing transportation agencies.

Who Should Attend?:
Transit Planners, GIS analysts, and any transportation professional with an interest in transit service and strategic planning. Previous knowledge of TBEST and/or GIS applications is desired but not a requirement. There is no cost to attend the training.
Registration:
If you would like to attend one of these sessions, please submit your registration request on the 2023 TBEST Training Registration page. Note that class size is limited. Please register as soon as possible as seating is limited. All required materials, computers and software will be provided. If desired, attendees can bring their own laptop computers pre-loaded with TBEST. The Training will begin at 8:30 AM and conclude at 4:30 PM each day. Lunch will be on your own.

Day One Training Session:
TBEST Introduction, TBEST Base Year Configuration, Model Validation and Model Application Scenarios
This TBEST class will focus on the basics of TBEST and how to utilize TBEST to fulfill the Transit Demand Estimation requirements for Florida Transit Development Plans (TDP).The instruction will also include guidance on how to utilize TBEST to fulfill TDP requirements for Baseline Assessment, Traditional/Discretionary Market Assessment, Existing Service and Performance Evaluation and many others.
