This shed type takes into consideration impediments to Wheelchair accessibility to determine the time or distance shed that is wheelchair navigable. Note that since this tool uses OpenStreetMap data, some areas may not have defined the Wheelchair accessibility criteria and thus the shed will not generate. Check your local OpenStreetMap data for more information. • Smoothed the Walk, Bike, Drive and Wheelchair shed polygons. In previous versions the polygons were somewhat jagged. • Upgraded the OpenRouteService (ORS) reference from v1 API to v2 API. The v1 API will expire on October 31, 2020 so this update is required for the following functions to continue working: Mobility Area Drive Path, Drive Shed, Walk Shed, Bike Shed, Wheelchair Shed and the Shortest Path tool when creating network segments. ----------TBEST 4.6 Release (10/29/2020) Build 7607 • Updated the TBEST GTFS Import with the following features: *UI Option to Merge Identical Route Patterns - during the GTFS import process, if elected, this option will evaluate route patterns on the same route in the same direction and determine if their top sequence and route alignment are the same. If the are the same, TBEST will merge the trips from both patterns into a single pattern. The merge includes stop ridership data if it is part of the GTFS import. This option can reduce the number of patterns and simplify the TBEST network. This option is enabled by default. *UI Option to select either the GTFS stop_id or the GTFS stop_code as the TBEST Stop Name - The Import TBEST Stop Name from GTFS: option is enabled for the user to specify either stop_id or stop_code from the stops.txt file as the imported Stop Name. The option is only enabled if the optional stop_code variable exists in stops.txt. If stop_code exists, it is the default option selected by TBEST. Users should pay attention to this variable to select stop_id if that is the preferred stop name and be consistent with this selection with multiple TBEST imports. *The UI now contains two import option panels which control parameters for the GTFS Import. The Network Import Options panel controls how TBEST will process the import for merging identical route patterns, import stop ridership, select the GTFS stop_code or stop_id to be the TBEST Stop Name, and the set the Time Point Defintion option. The Route Import Settings allows the user to modify how TBEST handles route-level import actions. The Route Import Settings contains options to Reset Scenario Routes which will remove all existing scenario routes and validation collections within the scenario, Show TBEST Routes not in GTFS (previously Show Unmatched TBEST Routes) will insert rows into the route list which consist of routes within the target scenario which are not in the GTFS. The user can elect to remove one or more of these routes during the import. The Add Agency Prefix to Route Name option is also within this panel. *The TBEST timepoints.txt supplemental file now supports an optional route_id column which allows TBEST to assign time points within the file to specific routes. *The Enable Route Pattern Fixes import option was removed from the UI. • Fixed an issue with the TBEST Mobility Area Market Analysis reporting where the Low Income households were not being apportioned correctly. • Fixed an issue where the Scenario Summary Tool reporting where the validated Base Year scenario could have incorrect values for Revenue Service Hours. • Fixed an issue where the TBEST Ridership Forecasting Model run would not complete due to .NET Framework issues connecting to Excel documents. • The landuse_triprates.xls spreadsheet within the TBEST Land Use Model 2018 model structure has been upgraded to .xlsx format. TBEST will accept both .xls and .xlsx formats to house land use trip rates. • Fixed an issue where the Mobility Area Service Report would sometimes not clip route features to the precise border of the Mobility Area geometry. • Fixed an issue with the GTFS Import stop_ridership.txt import where empty data values were not being converted to null. • General bug fixes and performance improvements. ----------TBEST 4.6 Release (11/17/2020) Build 7626 • Fixed an issue with the TBEST Mobility Area Drive Path showing an error when generating the path buffer. • Updated the TBEST GTFS Import Tool timepoints.txt supplemental file to support an optional shape_id column which allows TBEST to assign time points within the file to specific route patterns. To utilize the shape_id column, the route_id column must also be populated. • Added Network Accessiblity reporting to the Mobility Areas Toolbar. This reporting feature will allow Network Accessible Market and Land Use Analysis from the current Mobility Area defined on the map. In prior versions the user would have to save the Mobility Area first before applying this tool. • Fixed an issue where some demographic language, veteran and disabled variables where not being updated when running the TBEST Land Use Model 2018. These variables do not impact the TBEST model but are used in reporting within the TBEST Query Tool. A new model run is required to correctly populate the variables. • Fixed an issue where the number of service hours was not being updated when a route is interlined and the user modifies the Minimum Percent Layover for the route. • Improved performance of the TBEST Query Tool. • Fixed an issue where the Model Run status was not being updated when the user modifies the Route Type or Route Technology. • Modified the TBEST GTFS Import Tool to only populate Time Point values per specific pattern. In prior versions, if a stop time point value existed on another route but not on the target route, if the Stop ID was the same on the target route the time point value would be populated. ----------TBEST 4.6 Release (11/18/2020) Build 7627 • Fixed an issue with the Socio-Economic Market Analysis where the Total Population, Total Households and Total Employment values for the market could be slightly lower than the actual total. ----------TBEST 4.6 Release (12/11/2020) Build 7650 • Modified the TBEST process for defining Transfer Stations from a Time Point based definition in the TBEST Network Properties dialog to defining Transfer Stations as Special Generators. TBEST will automatically transition existing Transfer Station definitions to the new special generator format. Note that this change my slightly impact the TBEST model results depending upon existing Transfer Station coding. • For the TBEST GTFS Network Import, added support for the GTFS transfers.txt file which defines unique transfer characteristics in a network. TBEST will use this file to define Transfer Stations at the transfer stops defined in the file. • Added the Export Query Results to GIS feature to the TBEST Query Tool. This feature will export the selected Routes, Route Patterns, Route Pattern Segments or Route Pattern Stops to either File GeoDatabase or Shapefile format. The export will include all available attributes present in the Query Tool Results. • Fixed an issue with the TBEST Query Tool where when executing a query for Stop Generators/Amenities, setting the query equal to the value would not return a result. • Fixed an issue on the TBEST Trip Editor Statistics panel where Revenue Service Hours would sometimes display incorrect values. • Fixed an issue where when deleting Route Segments or Route Stop in the TBEST Scenario Network Editor using the keyboard delete key, if the delete was canceled in the confirmation dialog, the current Segment or Stop table cell would lose its contents. • Updated the TBEST GIS Export functionality to open a unique ArcMap document each time TBEST performs the export and the user options to open the export in ArcMap. In prior versions, if the TBEST.mxd was already open and the user tried to open a GIS export in ArcMap, the ArcMap opening would fail. • Fixed an issue with the Mobility Areas Analysis reporting when generating a Socio-Economic Summary the process would throw a Repair Geometry message related to the input Mobility Area. • In the TBEST GTFS Network Import tool import options, set the default of the Merge Identical Patterns option to be to not perform the merge. Also set the default import Stop Name source to be stop_id, not stop_code. • General bug fixes and performance improvements. ----------TBEST 4.6 Release (1/7/2021) Build 7677 • Updated the Route Service Summary to include a dynamic route map with time point information. The map contains controls for the Service Day (Weekday, Saturday, Sunday) and Time Point stop labels (Stop Name, Stop Description, Time Point Name, No Label). The Service Summary Route Tools have moved to a toolbar at the bottom of the Service Summary interface. The Route Map can be exported to File Geodatabase, Shapefile and KMZ formats and opened in ArcMap. • Fixed an issue with TBEST model failing in the socio-economic capture section on large transit systems. Improved model efficiency in this section as well. • Modified the TBEST Route Type editing capabilities relative to TBEST Circulator route types to allow a direct change to/from the Circulator type from other route types. In prior versions the Circulator route types could not be directly changed to other route types. • The Update Route Operation Settings tool UI and capabilities have been enhanced to include the following Route Operation Settings updates for selected routes: Route Type, Route Technology, Route Prefix (Add/Remove), Interlined Routes, and Route Fare exceptions (Base Fare and Transfer Fare). • Created a new network editing tool for defining network time points/creating network segments with user selected stops along an active route pattern. The tool automatically create time points at selected stops and re-segments the route at those stops. This makes the process of defining Users can input localized in-vehicle travel times or vehicle speed on route pattern segments which match an existing or proposed schedule. • GTFS Improvements: 1) added support to populate the Transfer Station TBEST stop amenity at stops listed in the input GTFS transfers.txt file. Stops with transfer_type = 3 are excluded. 2) Fixed issue with GTFS export where daily running times may have been off in some cases. 3) Added support to GTFS Export to populate two TBEST files TBEST (tbest_features.txt and parking_spaces.txt) which capture TBEST stop amenities and parking spaces. Users importing the exported TBEST GTFS networks back into TBEST will have the values populated in the network. 4) added a route pattern begin point and end point clipping where if the line work extends past the stop location at the end points of the route, TBEST will clip the line work to a location nearest to the first/last stop. 5) The network Segment ID will be populated with the sequential time point IDs at the begin stop and end stop of the segment. In prior versions the time point IDs were sorted alpha numerically and then populated as the Segment ID. • The TBEST Network Editor Route table now lists Base Fare, Transfer Fare and Interlined Routes. These values have also been added to the Ad-hoc Route Query tool. • Added Ad-hoc Query tool buttons to the Routes, Segments and Stop panel toolbars. The buttons will launch the TBEST Ad-hoc Query tool with the specific TBEST transit feature query-level automatically selected. • General bug fixes, UI and performance improvements. ----------TBEST 4.6 Release (1/10/2021) Build 7680 • Added the One-Way Vehicle Trips attribute to the TBEST Ad-hoc Query Tool Route Pattern Segment query attributes. • Updated the TBEST Downloads UI and download progress reporting. • Updated the Route Service Summary Demographics summary to be dependent upon the Service Day (Weekday, Saturday, Sunday) selection. ----------TBEST 4.6 Release (1/13/2021) Build 7683 • Removed the ability to modify a Transit System Name directly. In order to change a Transit System name, users must now copy the target Transit System, enter a new name for the copied system, and then once the copy is complete, delete the original file. This change was implemented as a result of issues experienced when editing the Transit System name and system file geodatabase and SQL Server file locks were present. • Fixed a issue within the Query Tool where Route Pattern Stop queries could miss records in the selection depending on the headway values on the route. • Upgraded TBEST to utilize Microsoft SQL Sever 2019. The TBEST installation process will install Microsoft SQL Server LocalDB 2019 as a prerequsite program. Users should not experience any change in the program operation. • Fixed an issue in the Trip Editor where the user would place a trip at 12:00 AM, TBEST would not insert the trip. This was experience when clicking the Trip Editor time line to insert a single trip. ----------TBEST 4.6 Release (1/19/2021) Build 7689 • Implemented a variety of performance improvements relative to TBEST scenario load times, GTFS Export, Network Editor Map draw times, deleting stops, and deleting routes. • Fixed issue with stop removal when running the Access via Transit tool using the Base scenario in a validated Transit System. • Removed extraneous data fields in the TBEST GTFS export related to the Florida DOT District 7 GTFS data model. This data model is not in service at this time. • Added a Copy Active Route Pattern function which allows the user to copy the active route pattern to a target route. The function is initiated in the Routes Panel by right-clicking on the target route directional pattern folder and selecting Copy the Active Route Pattern menu option. • TBEST will now run using a Microsoft SQL Sever 2019 LocalDB user instance (TBEST-MSSQLLocalDB) which separates the TBEST SQL Server connection from other applications which may use SQL Server LocalDB locally on the machine. This TBEST release will updated database components when TBEST loads for the first time so there may be a delay when connecting to existing Transit Systems or when loading Transit Systems from Distribution Files. • Updated the route selection map rendering to allow lighter colors and display the route name label with a darker back color. • Under the Route Selection Label options, added the option to display route selections with No Label. This applies to route selections in the Network Editor, the standalone Route Map dialog and the Route Service Summary map. In the Route Service Summary, coordinated the user Service Day selection option with Service Summary Demographic Maps and Route Schedule Route Tools. When opening these tools from the Service Summary, the generated maps and schedules generate content relative to the Service Day selected by the user. • Updated the Route Service Summary to display non-annualized Revenue Service Hours, Revenue Service Miles and Route Cost by default. Users can option the Annual summary at any time using the Annualize check box on the form. • The Route Service Report route-level launch to the Route Service Summary will open the Route Service Summary relative to the Service Period selected on the report. Weekday time periods will open the Service Summary to the Weekday service day and the Annualize option will open the Service Summary with the Annualize option checked with Weekday service period. • Added Capture Existing Stops on Selected Segments function to the Segments Panel. The tool is accessed via right-click context menu on the Segments list. The tool captures stops that may have been added on other routes but need to be propogated to other routes. ----------TBEST 4.6 Release (1/20/2021) Build 7690 • Fixed an issue with TBEST not notifying the user when Socio-Economic Growth Rates need to be set for Ridership Estimation Model Runs, Market Analysis, Title VI, COA and other tools. The issue caused TBEST to not execute these processes if socio-economic growth rates are not set. ----------TBEST 4.6 Release (1/25/2021) Build 7695 • Fixed an issue with the TBEST Ridership Estimation Model Run not completing on some machines. The issue would provide a message that TBEST could not find the file (SQLLocalDB.exe). • Updated the TBEST Query Tool to with the In-Service Results Only checkbox relative to the user Service Period selected. This filter will pre-filter the query results to only contain Routes, Route Patterns, Route Pattern Segments and Route Pattern Stops which are in-service for the selected Service Period. If unchecked, the In-Service Results Only will return all records regardless of service in the selected Service Period. The unchecked state allows users to select features that are not in Service using the Headway or Service Trips variables. When the In-Service Results Only checkbox is checked, TBEST will display the selected transit features on the Network Editing Map which correspond to the extent of the service for the selected Service Period. • Updated the TBEST Query Tool Route Pattern query category to include both socio-economic variables, observed ridership count and observed ridership performance variables. • Fixed an issue with the TBEST Query Tool - Route Pattern Segment query category where the Socio-Economic share variables were not averaged correctly. • Updated the TBEST Minority Population variable to tabulate the counts of African-American, Hispanic, Asian, Native American and Hawaiian population for all TBEST applications including Title VI Analysis and Title VI Disparate Analysis. This change is consistent with FTA guidance and supersedes the previous TBEST Minority Population tabulation which simply subtracted White population counts from Total Population. The new method will generally result in a higher Minority counts so be aware that this change will impact current Title VI analysis numbers. To update the Minority Population counts within the TBEST Query Tool, a TBEST Ridership Estimation Model run must be performed. • Fixed an issue with the Mobility Area Merge function not working properly under certain circumstances. • Fixed an issue with the Mobility Area Rename function causing the Mobility Area to not respond after the name change. ----------TBEST 4.6 Release (1/28/2021) Build 7698 • Improved the TBEST Ridership Estimation Model efficiency and proccessing time for the Socio-Economic Market Capture module. Improved the model capacity to handle large transit systems (greater than 40,000 stops). • Fixed a TBEST Explorer UI issue where the Model Status will display at the wrong location within the folder structure. ----------TBEST 4.6 Release (2/11/2021) Build 7712 • Updated the GTFS Import Tool by improving the route pattern segment split accuracy at time point locations. In previous versions the location of the time point split could be offset from the time point stop. • Updated the Route Service Summary to include Weekday, Saturday and Sunday values for Route Length, Stop Density, and Stop Count. Also udpated the Revenue Service Trips to display the annualzied counts when the Annualize check box is checked. • Improved the TBEST Ridership Estimation model run efficiency and stability. Depending on the Transit System size, model run times will improve anywhere from 20% to 70%. • Fixed an issue on the Socio-Economic Growth Rates - Zonal Growth interface when the Classified employment field values are set in the UI, the field values were not being re-populated in the UI when the user would re-open the Socio-Economic Growth Rates dialog.
