TBEST 4.7 Installation and Configuration Instructions Step 1: A System Administrator logs in to perform the installation on the target computer. Step 2: Uninstall any previous TBEST installation (optional) and close any open programs. Step 3: Verify the version of ArcGIS 10.x that is is installed on the target computer. TBEST is compatible with ArcGIS 10.4.1, 10.5.1, 10.6.1, 10.7.1, 10.8, 10.8.1, or 10.8.2 and requires the Basic license level or greater. If not already installed, reference and follow the ArcGIS installation instructions provided by ESRI. Step 4. Download the TBEST 4.7 installation file from the TBEST website that matches the ArcGIS version to be used on the machine. Note that the website lists a seperate TBEST installation file for each ArcGIS version referenced in Step 3. The TBEST installation files are located on the TBEST website at: https://tbest.org/downloads/?dl_cat=15. Users must be registered and logged in to the TBEST website in order to download an installation file. Step 5: Execute the installation file from its download location. Follow the on-screen instructions to install TBEST. If not already installed, this step includes automatic installation of TBEST prerequisite programs including Microsoft SQL Server 2019 LocalDB, Microsoft Data Connectivity 2007, and Microsoft SQL Server ODBC Driver 13 onto the local computer. If any of the prerequisite programs require a reboot of the machine, execute the reboot and after the machine restarts, re-execute the TBEST installation file from the download location. Step 6: During the installation, the TBEST Data Directory can be defined. The default directory location presented during the installation is set to 'C:\TBEST\', however during installation this can be modified to any directory on the local PC. This directory will store operational TBEST databases and Add-Ins. Step 7: After installation is complete, the Administrator must set the following permissions for the target Windows User Account who will be logged-in for TBEST use: • enable read/write access for the entire TBEST Data Directory including all subdirectories. In addition, verify that the Read Only folder attribute on the TBEST Data Directory and all subdirectories is set to false. • enable read/write/execute access for the \Tools\Addins\ directory. Step 8: Launch TBEST from the Windows Start menu and verify that it opens correctly. If TBEST does not open, review the previous steps to verify that each has been performed correctly. If TBEST still does not open or if there are other technical issues, please contact TBEST Technical Support (https://tbest.org/contact-us/).
